  • Explore how new technology, science and medicine can help reduce the numbers and severity of dementia
  • Discuss the ways in which individuals can reduce their likelihood of developing dementia
  • Consider the public health and NHS approaches required to reduce the prevalence of dementia in society
  • Examine the challenges around staff shortages in dementia care and develop strategies to improve staff recruitment, training and retention and better support those working in the sector
  • Assess the state of social care and its impact on dementia care and options for reform of social care and private residential dementia care with a view to reducing costs and improving access and care quality
  • Raise awareness of the role of unpaid carers and discuss how they can be better supported in caring for those with dementia
